From hobo to chief: My GTi story

I wouldn't say I'm a fanatic but I do like cars and I've always cared about the type of car I drive. Just ask my parents what kind of hell I put them through around my 18th birthday!

After spending three glorious months in California, I was as excited as ever to return home for no other reason than to become a bona fide adult. Not only would I officially be allowed to do all the things I had been doing illegally anyway but it was time to get my license and car and be free.

The good old days! Or the good old days?

It's funny how life changes as you get older...

When you were a child, you ran around naked and no one thought funny of you. You got to wet your bed without shame or write on the walls with crayons and grown-ups just laughed. Once I even tried to burn my parents’ house down. Ok, I got a little smack for that but the juice was worth the squeeze. As a child, you generally didn't have a care in the world. A bad day was when you had to share your sweets with your brother or you didn't get to sit in the front seat.

And then there was... A blog!

After many years of viewing and following other peoples' blogs, I finally decided to enter the arena myself. And why not? Writing is something that has always come natural to me and I think I have a lot of interesting AND valuable things to say. I remember being nine years old and in love with the then WWF (World Wrestling Federation). After each episode and big event, I used to head over to our antique PC and recall all the events I had witnessed as if I was the head journalist for a top wrestling magazine. What I'd pay to read my reviews all over again!
